Yes, all RMB. If you want to change US$ to Chinese currency in Tibet, you can change this in Lhasa Hotel or the Bank of China in Lhasa.

Bring a good supply of RMB 10 notes in case of the shops and taxi drivers cannot do change for bigger notes, there are a lot of counterfeit large notes around, small notes are better.

Yes, but only the Bank of China in Lhasa has this function. However, the ATM there does not always work properly. Therefore, I suggest you to bring some cash with you.

Tibetan people are wonderfully warm and friendly, they will want to talk; however bear in mind some small suggestions when dealing with them:

• Do not photo them without permission.

• Stay away from politics and religion

• Be respectful

What should I bring for the plateau weather?

The suns solar radiation here can very intense. It is very easy to get sun burnt. Sunscreen, Sun block, high sun protection factor, good quality sunglasses and a wide-brimmed hat are good means of protection.

For the clothing, I suggest casual and layered clothing. In day time you may need only a T-shirt or at most a jacket, but at night you may need a coat. A Down coat is necessary if you go beyond Lhasa and Shigatse to the remoter areas of the Everest Camp or further to Mount Karlash.

Are there any suggestions on what I should do or take to acclimatize the altitude in Tibet China?

The high altitude affects almost every visitor in Tibet China.

This region is over 3000 meters above sea level with lots of its area above 5000 meters, which brings it the nickname "the roof of the world".

Most of the visitors get used to the high altitude by using the first couple of days just resting and seeing Lhasa, not to much activity for the first couple of days.

Take extra special care on noticing your state of health, breathing etc, report all unusual things to your guide or tour operator.

Some special pieces of advice.

• People with serious heart disease or heart troubles, this region should be avoided.

• If you insist, follow your Doctors advice and bring medical information with you. You must declare this to your tour operator.

• People with high or low blood pressure take special care and follow doctor's advice.

• Try not to have a cold or have had a cold recently, before entering Tibet.

• The first day arriving in Tibet China, it is advised visitors not to take a bath and smokers not smoke.

• Drink plenty of water.

• Report immediately when you do not feel well to your guide or tour operator. Always follow his advice.

• The sunscreen, sunglasses or dark glasses, lip cream are a must, Tibet's high altitude and the atmosphere allow the sun to get very hot, you need to protect yourself against this.

• In addition to the normal medications for traveling, just like the Aspirin and Ibuprofen etc, you should bring some high altitude medication. See your doctor for advice.
